He spoke to us as though we were children and made snarkey comments when we asked common questions. I think the disorganization in the company may have meant their staff were overworked and not on their best game. The last morning there was also no milk for cereal or bread for toast left. I was very disappointed in the level of service provided on the tour. Other similar tours I have been on did a much better job of making the whole experience stress free. Our tour guide Peter definitely made the trip. His knowledge and enthusiasm to teach us about the parks and answer questions was outstanding!

The food however was very disappointing, in particularly breakfast and lunch. Having been on a tour of the red centre with a different company I had something to compare it to. It was obvious that there was a very tight budget for food, with small limited portions. There was only enough for one small sandwich on the second day and one small wrap for lunch on the third. With one slice of cheese and piece of ham per person. I think for the price we paid a bit more money could have been spent on food.

Overall the trip was enjoyable, and interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 day three night around Uluru, kata Juta and kings canyon. It was a huge experience with nature, sleeping in a swag, cooking on the campfire and getting away from technology. My tour guide, Kitty made this trip so much fun. She had studied the aboriginal culture at university, and imparted a passion for the aboriginal culture on us all. Kitty, despite her 15 hour days of driving, being a tour guide, cook and general Slave to 15 adults, made the trip fantastic. Me and my friend did the 10 days package alice springs to Darwin and it was an amazing trip.

If you love nature and wild it is definitely the tour to do. I would like to thanks Peter to be such a passionate guide, always smiling and happy to answers to our questions. I really appreciated his knowledge about the land, the wildlife and the aboriginal culture. So interesting!! Basically, I was happy the tour was over. It was unorganized, our tour guide had no clue and couldn't explain anything and if we wouldn't have taken care of ourselves we probably would have lost a few people in the desert and would have had to sleep on the floor.

I definitely don't recommend this tour.

3 Day 4WD Dragonfly Dreaming Top End Safari • Tours To Go

And here's why: Once everyone had arrived at the camp, we drove off to Uluru and were told to read about the Aboriginal stories at the Culture Center, which we did. Our guide then re-told all the stories in a very complicated way once we were at Uluru. At the crowded sunset spot we were handed a cookie each while all the other groups had a small buffet with snacks and drinks. Speaking of which, all the water we had was warm and tasted of chloride.

Back at the camp we had to cook while our guide was nowhere to be seen. As there were no herbs and spices, this proved to be a rather difficult task. We finally ate around 9pm, after our guide had come back to tell us to hurry up as he was hungry. Some people hadn't had any lunch because they flew to Uluru, others had gotten up at 4am for the tour so we were all quite hungry. At night we all slept in swags outside while our guide was off in a tent somewhere. The next day started at We drove to Kata Tjuta where he explained how the 'big stuff' and the 'small stuff' formed Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

Luckily someone from our group had read up on it before and was able to explain it, otherwise I'd still not know. There was a longer and a shorter walk and our guide did the shorter one with a few people. As soon as he saw the first 4 of the group from the long walk come back he left again towards the bus, leaving someone else in charge of handing out snacks. Back at the camp we made our own lunch while he was being told off for not cleaning in the morning and then told us off for not doing so.

In the afternoon we drove for several hours. The temperature in the bus was between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius for the whole drive because our guide insisted that the air conditioning was on when it wasn't. At the new camp we had to cook again while he was off. Afterwards he announced that he was going to bed without having told us where we were supposed to sleep. Once that was sorted he wanted to put the leftovers outside for the dingoes, 'as always'. We repeatedly told him that that was dangerous and foolish and he just made fun of us.

We then took care of things ourselves. At least he had closed the bus door, unlike the previous night. On our last walk at King's Canyon I stopped listening to his 'talks' as they were just plain confusing and endless.

Get The Ark!

We also lost some people on that walk as he had never bothered to tell us which way to go and didn't walk ahead. At a later point, when they had found us again, others walked the wrong way. All he did was yell after them, which they obviously didn't hear, and someone else had to go get them.

He generally never made sure everyone was on the bus and on the rare occasion that he did, he simply asked if 'everyone was here' instead of counting us. He has a habit of doing stuff on his phone while driving and ending up on the wrong side of the road. After doing the tour for quite some time now he had no clue where the pool at the camp was.

He seemed to have no interest in the places he was showing us and just wanted us back on the bus as quickly as possible. It has generally been an exhausting trip as we had to take care of everything ourselves. Nothing was organized and so people ended up without a plate for lunch, with nowhere to sit and the likes.

Facilities were dirty. Actually, we think it was highly irresponsible to leave the one guide to do all the work and all the driving over the 3 days and we wonder what we would have done in the not unlikely event that someone would have needed medical attention.

We paid quite a lot for the trip and it was most definitely not worth the money. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Flights Vacation Rentals Restaurants Things to do. Cart 0.
